accessing old bitcoin wallet from 2012/13

Hi Guys
I have an old wallet.dat file with a few bitcoins in it from when I was playing around with mining pools in the early days. I installed the old 0.7 client so that i could try and access the wallet and transfer out my coins but it stalled at 54% downloading transaction history and hasn't moved in a day or so despite multiple restarts....
What are the best options for me accessing that file and getting my bitcoins into a more modern client like electrum? I want to use them.
Thanks

I purchased 2 bitcoins four years ago and never thought about them again. Now I reinstalled Bitcoin Core. The transaction is shown in my Bitcoin Core Wallet but balances is at 0. I still have the old wallet.dat and imported it to the Bitcoin program folder. How can I get access to my bitcoins?

Hey guys,
As stated in the title, I wonder how I can solve the problem described in the title. As written, the transaction is shown as successful and I never spent any of the Bitcoins. It would be awesome if you could help me, getting my coins back.
This is what is written in the Transaction details:
Status: 0/unconfirmed, not in memory pool Date: 09.04.2013 12:20 From: unknown Credit: 1.98269540 BTC Net amount: +1.98269540 BTC
Thanks a lot !
PS: Sorry for my bad english, German guy here :)
Update/Frustration:
Thanks everyone for your kind help! As the syncing process is going on, the good news is: My BC are now displayed! The bad news is: I am 100% certain of my password I chose, when I first secured my wallet. But now it always says: walletpassphrase incorrect.
I will now use this guide http://www.gobitgo.com/articles/1005/How-To-Recover-Your-Bitcoin-Wallet-Password/ and try to recover my pw as I know the most parts of it. Maybe I get lucky and can recover it. Wish me luck :)

I have an old bitcoin core wallet from 2014. What is the most efficient way to gain access back to those coins?

I have the wallet backup and the old version of the Bitcoin-Qt v0.8.6 on an older computer. I am trying to get access to the coins and move them to a new computer. Right now when I turn on the bitcoin wallet it is not syncing due to its age. What is the most efficient way to get the coins from that wallet onto a new wallet?

I have my BTC in an old paper wallet. How do I get access to and sell by bitcoin gold?

I have some BTC from way back in 2014. I want to cash out all my crypto, including Bitcoin Cash and bitcoin gold. I know I can use blockchain info to sweep my BTC and Bitcoin Cash, but i don’t believe they support bitcoin gold. I don’t have an android phone, so coinomi is out of the picture. Any advice? I appreciate it!

Gaining access to a wallet with old version of bitcoin-qt

Hey,
I realized I have some coins on my old PC, it's running Windows 7 and it has bitcoin-qt v0.7.0beta on it. I have of course lost my passphrase of the wallet, it has been over 4 years I used that computer last time.
I've been googling all night if the bitcoin-qt has some security flaw that could be used as a way to gain access to the funds. Has there been any security breaches on bitcoin-qt software?

Forgot My Bitcoin Wallet Password! - YouTube How to Get Your Coinbase Bitcoin Wallet Address - YouTube How to restore a Bitcoin wallet Eureka! Long lost Bitcoin Wallet? How to Recover & Reload a BITCOIN WALLET 0.8.1-beta Win 7

There it is, 0.22901 BTC found in an old wallet. I also got the bitcoin cash, this time by making a QR code from the secret, and scanning it with the coinomi android wallet app. Too easy. A few years ago I went to the bank and deposited cash to buy bitcoin. I had a wallet with a bitcoin address as well as a secure password which I wrote down (I am looking at it as I type). However the computer I used has since been replaced by a new one and I left my country to move abroad without installing the original wallet on my new laptop. In the event of wallet loss, the user can retrieve and combine these security elements, whereupon their new Hashwallet will generate the keys required to access the funds. Zengo is another wallet ... So, long time ago I created a wallet using bitcoin core 0.5.2. That was before the wallets with seeds becoming popular. Thus I encrypted the wallet.dat using GPG and the wallet itself required a pass phrase to use the coins. Now I wanted to check the balance and, if there is something, transfer it to a trezor. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a way to add additional security to your wallet. The first 'factor' is your password for your wallet. The second 'factor' is a verification code retrieved via text message or from an app on a mobile device. 2FA is conceptually similar to a security token device that banks in some countries require for online banking.
